Coronavirus Covid-19

During the Coronavirus outbreak, St James' will follow the advice given by the Church of England. We are receiving regular updates from the CofE to ensure that we have the latest guidance to inform our actions.

The Church continues to be alive and active, but our buildings must remain closed.  We must distance ourselves from one another and prevent the spread of infection in order to save lives.  Public worship being suspended and all church buildings in the Church of England are closed.  Our worship of God and our care for each other continue but cannot be done in our buildings.

During this time our usual weekly news letter has been suspended, but there are other ways to find out our latest news.

Firstly, look out for emails sent from Brendan via Church Suite – you will receive these if you are on our database and signed up to receive emails.  If you are not currently receiving these email messages and would like to do so please email: and we will be able to set this up.

Service and Events - All services and events at St James are cancelled or postponed.  We are using our Facebook page to live stream Sunday services and also posting them and Family services on our YouTube page.  There is also a daily Morning Prayer service via Zoom and a virtual coffee morning every Thursday morning.  For details of all our online services, events and links to our Facebook and YouTube pages and Zoom please see our Online Worship page:  Online Worship

Our Web Pages Generally - We have left our web pages open for the time being.  We appreciate that you may be a new visitor to our webpage and want to see what we usually have running in terms of services, events and activities.  Once this situation is over we will continue to reach out to the community of Wetherby.  We hope and pray that this will not be long in coming.

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all you strength....Love your neighbour as yourself.  Thers is no commandment greater than these."
