Suggestions for Prayer
For God’s continued blessing upon the community of Wetherby and Linton. For those in roles of leadership both locally and nationally, for Alec Shelbrook MP and the city and town councillors. That the response to Christian Aid appeal will be met with generosity.
People in Parsons Green area of Wetherby: Parsons Green, Durrant Close, Highcliffe, Highcliffe Court, Bridgefoot, Wetherby Silver Band and the Bandstand, Weir Preservation Trust, the Wilderness Carp Park and Wetherby in Bloom.
Wetherby Churches are asked to pray for: The homeless and those who offer support.

Hymns and Pimms – Sunday 2 June at 6.30pm at St James’ – We will begin the evening by singing some of your favourite hymns led by Michael and the choir with contributions from the Gospel Choir, followed by Pimms and nibbles, hopefully outside! We need suggestions from you for your favourite hymns and why you like them, there are request forms at the back of church. Thank you for your help and come along and sing! Marilyn and Michael

Thy Kingdom Come – Thank you to everyone knitting and crocheting butterflies and doves. These will be going out into Wetherby Town centre on Thursday 30 May, so please keep going! We will need another great team of volunteers to go to the marketplace and hand out our yarn offerings and to bless people. It was so much fun last year, be a part of it this year. We will go from the Church Centre at 10.30am-11.30am, working in pairs. Training will be given and you really will be helping God’s kingdom to come! Stroma
 
Parish Magazine Cover Competition – Calling all budding artists, photographers and designers. Why not have a go at creating a cover for our Parish Magazine. Entries will be displayed in Church during the Fete, closing date 14 June. St James’ Church & Community Fete on Saturday 15 June from 10.30am to 2pm. If you are a member of a group and wish to have a stall, it can be run for your own funds, for charity or to help St James’ Church funds. Stalls not run for church funds will be charged at £15 per trestle table. Bottle Bola – Please can you donate one or more full bottles for our Bottle Bola. Bottles can be left in the box in the church porch, in the Parish Office or handed to any adult member of the choir. Thank you. The Friends of Wetherby Parish Church Music.
Church Tombola – The PCC is running its usual tombola and requires prizes. If you can donate any items, please leave in the box at the back of Church
 
Thy Kingdom Come: The 2019 Diocesan Event at Ripon Cathedral on Sunday 2 June at 3.30pm. The event will include a liturgical gathering and a relaxed opportunity to engage with prayer stations and pilgrimage trails in and around the Cathedral. After a short closing act of worship and refreshments will be served from 4.30pm. Please let the Parish Office know if you would like to attend. Thank you.

Sponsored Swim for St Gemma's Hospice - 1 April-5 June - Susie and Richard Hughes are undertaking a sponsored swim for St Gemma's Hospice. They are attempting to swim 22 miles over 8 weeks, the same as swimming from Dover to Calais. If you wish to sponsor them, there is a sponsor form at the back of Church. Thank you.
