Annual Parish Meetings – you are invited!

On Thursday 19 April there will be two church meetings for our parish. These are the Annual Meeting of Parishioners, for the annual election of churchwardens, and the Annual Parochial Church Meeting, where reports are received concerning the life and work of our church and Parochial Church Council members are elected. One meeting follows the other. The meetings start at 7.30pm in the Town Hall following drinks and nibbles from 7pm.

Nomination forms for Churchwardens, Deputy Churchwardens, PCC members and Deanery Synod representatives will be at the back of the church for the two weeks before the meetings. The written reports, accounts and agendas will also be available in church on the Sunday before the meetings. Please do consider if you would like to stand for the PCC yourself, or if there is someone you would like to nominate. You can talk it over beforehand with Brendan, the Churchwardens, or with me or other PCC members.

Do put the date in your diary and join us – Thursday 19 April, 7pm in the Town Hall.

Audrey Spivey, PCC Secretary

Thy Kingdom Come - A Global Wave of Prayer

10th - 20th May 2018

A ‘Prayer Posada’ - Round the World in Nine Days

In May St James’ Church and St James’ School will be taking part in a ‘Prayer Posada’ as part of ‘Thy Kingdom Come’.

A ‘Posada’ box containing a globe/world map, paper and felt tip pens will travel around nine families in the parish and twelve families in St James’ School.

Families will be invited to choose a country to pray for, draw the country’s flag and write the word for ‘hello’ on the back in the language of their chosen country. They will then pray for this country, it’s leaders and the people who live there, before placing the flag back in the box and passing it to the next family.

The Posada boxes will begin their travels from St James’ School on Wednesday 9th May and from Church on Sunday 13th May.

Let’s join together in praying ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ across the globe!
