Suggestions for Prayer
Father’s Day: provides an opportunity to pray for fathers (and grandfathers) in their role of caring, protecting and sharing with mothers the privilege of bringing up their families and others for whom they have a parental responsibility. Pray for the single-parent families as they seek to cope with the added responsibility of bringing up their children.
Thursday is World Refugee Day and we pray for the many who, because of conflict , poverty and persecution, have had to abandon their homes.
People in the Glebe Fields Area of Wetherby:   Glebe Fields Chase, Glebe Fields Close, Glebe Fields Croft, Glebe Fields Drive, Glebe Fields Garth, Glebe Fields Holt.
Churches in Wetherby are asked to pray for: Pupils and Staff of the schools in the this area.

Appeal for bibles - TWAM, the Christian charity that collect our used tools, are now also appealing for used copies of the bible which will be sent to churches in African countries and in E. Europe.  Unfortunately, because of language difficulties, the King James Version of the Bible are not being collected but, if you’ve a copy of other versions, that are no longer being read, I would appreciate hearing from you. Many thanks. Derek Taylor 01937 918534

Confirmation and Reception - We rejoice together for these great steps of faith
Please pray for Calum Breen, Oscar Corbett, Robert Frost, Isabel Graham, Ralphie Harrison, Sofia Hartley, Ryan Jones, Eva Lumb, Emily Parker, James Purvis, Finley Robinson, Jasmine Taylor, Zachary Walton, Callum Wood, Emma Kennedy and Clifford Tetlow who will be confirmed and Tarryn-Leigh Jones who will be received into the Church of England next Sunday. Please pray that all may know the love of God being poured into their hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you. Brendan

St James’ Festival Celebration - On Sunday 14th July we will be celebrating our patron saint, St James, with a special service at 10.00am.  Miriam Knowles will be our guest preacher.  The service will be followed by a barbeque lunch at 12noon on the Tetley Land. So we have exact numbers for catering, if you would like to come to the barbeque, please add your name to the list at the back of church.  Although this is a social event rather than a fundraising event, donations would be gratefully received.  We are also looking for volunteers to help cook the barbeque.  If you can help, please let Jean Heaton (Tel: 07866 366314) or Brendan know. Thank you
