Pray for all those who are being confirmed today and for Tarryn-Leigh Jones who is being received into the Church of England. As they receive the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit, pray they will walk faithfully in the steps of Jesus and that those sharing in the service will be challenged to review their own Confirmation promises. Pray too for Bishop Helen-Ann Hartley who will be confirming the candidates.

A Big Thank You – to everyone who helped, attended, donated or supported the Church and Community Fete on Saturday 15 June, they were magnificent. Our beautiful ‘Fete Queen’, Sofia Hartley, was crowned by Janet Cox and officially opened the Fete. During the Fete, the Church was open and a wide variety of Church groups had put up displays on the work they do. The entries to the design a magazine cover competition were on display and we would like to thank everyone who took part. The winners were Kathryn Wenn (adult), Sam Peacock (16-17), Ollie Wenn (12-15) and Imogen Payne (under 7). Together with the money raised from the quiz, we made just over £1,900 for Church funds. Jean Heaton and Sue Taylor.

St James’ Day Celebration - Sunday 14 July we will be celebrating our patron saint, St James, with a special service at 10.00am.  Miriam Knowles will be our guest preacher.  The service will be followed by a barbeque lunch at 12noon on the Tetley Land. So we have exact numbers for catering, please add your name to the list at the back of church if you wish to attend. Although this is a social event rather than a fundraising event, donations would be gratefully received.  We are also looking for volunteers to help cook the barbeque.  If you can help, please let Brendan know. Thank you. Jean Heaton
