Suggestions for Prayer
Pray for those who have been elected to represent us in Parliament, the Assemblies and the House of Lords and they may be inspired and strengthened to put the interests of our country and people before those of self and party. Give thanks for the Christian men and women, and those serving as advisors, who consider and promote the various policies and Parliamentary acts that can affect our daily lives.
Pray for people living in Templar Gardens area: Templar Gardens, Knights Croft, Law Close, Priory Close, Eels Mire Garth, Ashfield, Deighton Close, Benedict’s and Ashfield Nursing Homes, Home Paddock House.
This week Wetherby Churches are asked to pray for: those living under regimes that do not value freedom of speech.

St James’ Day Celebration - Sunday 14 July we will be celebrating our patron saint, St James, with a special service at 10.00am.  Miriam Knowles will be our guest preacher.  The service will be followed by a barbeque lunch at 12noon on the Tetley Land. So we have exact numbers for catering, please add your name to the list at the back of church if you wish to attend. Although this is a social event rather than a fundraising event, donations would be gratefully received.  We are also looking for volunteers to help cook the barbeque.  If you can help, please let Brendan know. Thank you. Jean Heaton

Church Welcoming - 'Lovely Church and a warm Yorkshire Welcome', 'Lovely Church, nice people', 'Very welcoming, friendly and peaceful', some of the lovely comments written in our Visitors Book.  Visitors who may have come from Wetherby and never been in the Church, Yorkshire, the UK and from all around the world, USA, Slovenia, Lithuania.  It is very rewarding to make people welcome when they visit our Church, from wherever they come.  We have an excellent team of willing volunteers, who work in pairs and try to keep the Church open every morning from April to November.  However, we do need a few more helpers so that we can keep the doors open.  If you would be willing to give up just a couple of hours a month to join us, we would be very grateful.  Please contact Jill Rose 01937 586640.
