Suggestions for Prayer

Blind missions Sunday is the name of a new charity providing support and working to prevent blindness, improve health and tackle the poverty of children with disabilities living in the world’s poorest places. Let us pray for the continued success of this charity.

Community Harvest Thanksgiving Service– A short service for all ages and abilities will be held on Monday 15 October at 1.45pm at St James’ Church. Please join us after the service for refreshments, everyone is welcome. For more information, please speak to Val Lumsden 01937 584760


Prisons Week Service on Thursday 18 October at HMYOI Wetherbyto arrive by 6.00pm for 6.30pm start. The guest speaker is David Lewis, who will talk about how his life has been transformed by God. CMS Supper and Talks on Friday 26 October at 7.00pm in the ChurchCentre. The speakers, who work for CMS, are Anna and Chris Hembury who work in Hull and Jessica and Andy Lynch who are preparing to work in Ecuador. Please do support this evening, which will provide a good meal and enable us to share in some of the work both in this country and overseas. Tickets cost £10.00 from Derek Taylor. Thank you. Derek

Service of Light on Sunday 4 November at 6.30pm. We will be joining together at St James’ to remember our loved ones by the lighting of individual candles in their memory. Church Family Weekend– Friday evening to Sunday afternoon – 22 to 24 March 2019 at Scargill House, Kettlewell. The costs, to include accommodation and food, are £110 for adults, children over 5 years £25.00, children under 5 are free. Appreciation– The Samara Levy Clothing appeal was very well supported with 60 banana boxes being taken to Harrogate for the journey to Syria. £150.00 was donated towards the shipping costs. Many thanks to donors and all who helped in different ways, also to Sykes House Farm, for providing the means of transport to Harrogate. Derek Taylor
