Suggestions for Prayer

Pray that more people today will recognise the importance of the Bible and its relevance to their needs. Pray especially for young people and the launching, this month, of ‘The Good News Bible – The Youth Edition’.Pray for those countries in which Bibles are not allowed and Christians run enormous risks if it is discovered they have a copy.

Pray for People in Linton:Westgarth, Tibgarth, Stammergate Lane, Middle Lane, Orchard Drive, College Farm Lane, Northcote Fold, Eden Bank.

No Trick, Just Treat on Wednesday 31 October from 6.00-8.00pm. – An alternative to Halloween for Primary aged children. If you would like to volunteer to help with this, please sign the sheet at the back of Church or speak to Sarah Sharp 07500 262306

 

Service of Light on Sunday 4 November at 6.30pm. We will be joining together at St James’ to remember our loved ones by the lighting of individual candles in their memory. The Children’s Society Coffee Morningin the Town Hall on Saturday 10 November from 9.00am. Please come along and join us, there will be bacon butties, teas, coffee, cakes, books, crafts, bric-a-brac and tombola. Any donations of cakes, bric-a-brac, books are all very gratefully received. First Aiders Needed – Could you serve the church by volunteering to be a named first aider? We are going to run a training course on Saturday 17November,starting at 9.00am, in the Church Room and lasting approximately 3-4 hours. Please contact Steve Taylor email steve.taylor7f@btinternet.com

 

Church Family Weekend – Friday evening to Sunday afternoon – 22 to 24 March 2019at Scargill House, Kettlewell. The costs, which include accommodation and food, are £110 for adults, children over 5 years £25.00, children under 5 are free. Booking forms are available in Church or from the Parish Office. FINAL DATE FOR BOOKING,25 November 2018. There are a limited number of places remaining, so please do book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.    Val Lumsden 

 

Well Worth a Visit!– Ripon is decked with thousands of knitted poppies and is a memorable sight – all round the market place, in shop windows and draping the Town Hall.  The Cathedral has poppies hanging from the central arch and from the pulpit, as well as the worshipping corners. There is also an amazing display entitled ‘Fields of Mud and Seeds of Hope’. Michael and Mary Hare

 

Thank You to everyone who contributed towards the cost of the flowers at Harvest. Your donations at Harvest and Easter, along with one off contributions for flowers in memory of loved ones, usually cover the cost of the flowers all year.
