Suggestions for Prayers

Pray for the life and witness of St. James’ church and the Church on the Corner as it seeks to minister to the community and the needs of those outside the parish. For the continued guidance of the Holy Spirit in all decisions that are made, that Jesus’ name will be honoured and “His Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven.” Give thanks that we have the freedom to rejoice and celebrate that we know that Christ is risen and is alive. For those who minister and are in leadership roles.

People in the Ainsty Road Area  of Wetherby:  Ainsty Road, Ainsty Crescent, Ainsty Drive, Ainsty Garth, Ainsty View, Beechwood Rise, Linden Way.

This week Wetherby Churches are asked to pray for:  Churches Together in Wetherby and the church representatives.

Dear Friends, thank you all so much for your prayers, thoughtfulness and cards over the time that I have been ill. We have been so grateful. With our love to you all. Robin and Margaret Jones

Love Lunch – Monday’s fortnightly pop in café brings people together to share food and enjoy fellowship. Join us in the Coffee Lounge on Monday 24 April where you will receive a warm welcome. Lorraine Moseley

Annual Parish Meetings – The Annual Meeting of Parishioners, for the election of Churchwardens, and the APCM will both be held on Thursday 27 April at 7.30pm in the Town Hall. Drinks and nibbles will be served from 7pm. The APCM receives a variety of written and verbal reports, that together provide an overview of church activities for the last 12 months, as well as a look forward. The 2016/17 annual report, the 2016 parish accounts and agendas will be available in church and at the meeting.

The APCM elects annually five lay representatives to the Parochial Church Council (PCC) for a period of three years. Nomination forms for Churchwardens, Deputy Churchwardens and PCC membership are available in the church porch today, but nominations can be made also at the meeting (except for Churchwardens). Please prayerfully consider whether you could stand for any of these roles, or you could nominate. PCC nominees are asked to write a short description of themselves. Audrey Spivey, PCC Secretary, email cawetherby@live.co.uk

Le Tour de Yorkshire – The cycle race comes through Wetherby on Saturday 29 April. The ‘Events Team’ are organising bacon rolls, tea and coffee, to be served to spectators in the church yard, from 9am until approx. 12.30pm. We are in need of one or two volunteers to help with this, especially someone energetic to fill and bring back flasks of hot water from the kitchen. Please speak to me tel 581508 or see Bob Greene. Thank you. Audrey Spivey
