Organist and Minister – Today we welcome Imogen Morgan as our visiting organist and her father the Reverend Nick Morgan. Nick, curate at the Masham group of churches, will be joining us on placement for six weeks from mid-September. We look forward to Nick’s ministry and we thank Imogen for playing for us today. Suggestions for Prayers

For all who suffer with Dementia: bless them in the daily confusion of life and bring healing to their minds and give them clarity and strength. Pray that their families, and carers, may be given compassion and the ability to cope and learn how best to support their loved ones. That the Government will make more funding available for dementia research.

Love Lunch – Monday’s fortnightly pop in café brings people together to share food and enjoy fellowship. Join us in the Coffee Lounge on Monday 14 August anytime between 12 noon and 2pm (last orders 1.30pm), where you will receive a warm welcome. Young People’s Nepal Mission Trip – The young people are spending the summer running, climbing, cycling and more to raise money to visit TearFund in Nepal. Step-up 2017/18 – is a year-long process of learning about the Christian faith and practical discipleship. Step-up gives people an opportunity to learn, explore and ask questions about the Christian faith and the space to discern God’s call and purpose for their lives. Here in Wetherby the course begins on Wednesday 13 September.

Art Exhibition on Saturday 16 September from 10am to 3.30pm in Wetherby Town Hall. Refreshments will be served with money raised going to the Nepal Project. Any ‘artists’ from St James’ that would like to exhibit/sell their work, please contact Sandra Ellen SRmesh@aol.com

 

An Evening with Eddie Gray – Footballing legend, Eddie Gray, of Leeds United and Scotland fame, will be coming to Wetherby on Friday 29 September at 7.30pm at Wetherby Sports Association. Eddie Gray was a ‘superstar’ of the 70’s. Tickets for a meal, talk and question time will be £15 each and on sale from the Parish Office from 4 September. Proceeds go to the Nepal Project. Thank you.
