Suggestions for Prayers

Of the 45,000 deaf children in the UK, 40% of them also have special needs. We pray that their parents and carers may be able to understand and help them to have every opportunity to develop their full potential.  Pray too for the many children in the Developing World with disabilities, who are much less likely to start school, will receive the necessary assistance to enable them to live meaningful lives.

Pray for People in the Walton Road area of Wetherby: Walton Road, First Avenue, Second Avenue, Third Avenue, Fourth Avenue, Hallfield Crescent, Burrell Close, Privas Way.

The Children’s Society Coffee Morning in the Town Hall on Thursday 22 February from 9.00am. There will be bacon butties, teas, coffee, cakes, books and a tombola. Please come along and join us! Thank you. Jill Rose

Tools with a Mission (TWAM) – Churches Together are organising a collection of tools on Saturday 24 February from 10am to 4pm in the Church Room for TWAM. The donated tools will be sorted into trade kits and sent to countries in the Developing World for ‘livelihood creation’. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Wetherby Festival – The Wetherby Arts Festival Charity is holding its AGM at 8pm on Wednesday 28 February in the Committee Room in the Church Centre. Women’s World Day of Prayer Service on Friday 2 March at 1.30pm at St James’ Church. This Service will be followed by light refreshments, served at the back of Church. The Children’s Society ‘What the Butler Saw’ – Join us for a fascinating talk entitled ‘What the Butler Saw’ given by Mr Michael Davison-Paine, one time butler to the Queen, followed by a delicious afternoon tea. This will be held in the Church Centre on Thursday 15 March at 2.30pm. Tickets cost £10 and include afternoon tea. Please contact Jill Rose for tickets on 01937 586640.


A Big Thank You to everyone who bought a cake after the 9.30am and 11am services on 4 February in aid of Cancer Research UK. We raised a fantastic total of just over £125. Thank you too to everyone who helped and baked for us. Ollie Wenn and Dominic Teahan
