Special Services for Advent and Christmas at St James'


Sunday 2nd December
Advent Carols and Readings         Service - 6.30pm

With refreshments kindly provided by The Friends of St James' Church Music
 

Come and celebrate the start of Advent and prepare for the coming of Christmas

 


                        Sunday 9th December
Christmas Gift Appeal at all services

 

We are once again supporting our sister church in the Seacroft Parish
with their Christmas Box Appeal

 

Please bring your donations of new unwrapped toys and gifts for both children and teenagers to any of our service 

 

 


Monday 10th December
Community Christmas Carol Service - 1.45pm
followed by light festive refreshments 

A short service for all ages and abilities.   We look forward to welcoming you!


  Monday 10th December
         Charity Carol Service      7.30pm

   In aid of St Gemma's Hospice

 A wonderful way to celebrate Christmas and support a great charity

Sunday 16th December
Service of Service at 11am

 

We will be out and about in Wetherby delivering gifts,
rubbish picking, carol singing and more ...
all followed by a soup lunch

Sunday 23rd December
Family Communion and Nativity - 10.00am

Young people from our children’s groups make Christmas come to life.
This is a service that always brings smiles to all our faces
as the meaning and joy of Christmas are shared.

 

Nine Lessons and Carols by Candlelight - 6.30pm 
 

A traditional Carol Service with wonderful readings and
favourite carols led by our splendid choir.
Mince pies and mulled wine will be served after the service.


Christmas Eve

Crib Service - 2.00pm

 

Christingle Services - 4.00pm & 6.00pm

“The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has never put it out”.
Magical services when we glimpe the coming light of Christmas.
 

Midnight Communion by Candlelight - 11.30pm

Come and join us for the first celebration of Christmas.
A service full of wonder and awe as we rejoice in
Christ’s coming into our world.

Holy Communion BCP (Book of Common Prayer) - 8.00am

A short reflective service when we give thanks for
God’s gift of himself to his world.

 

Family Christmas Communion - 10.00am
A joyful celebration of Christmas 

Come sing great carols and hear the Christmas message.

A service for all the family.
