Music at St James

St James’ has a fine tradition of music which has grown to include not only an accomplished Choir but also a variety of contemporary musicians and singers who lead our Sunday ‘Worship at 11.00’ services.

Music at St James’ is supported by

The Friends of Wetherby Parish Church Music

The Friends of Wetherby Parish Church Music was formed to help the church to safeguard such a fine musical tradition. We aim to help meet the costs of musical education and training through scholarships.

The Friends regularly sponsor a number of choristers on the Royal School of Church Music residential courses and in help with the costs of instrumental courses for members of the Music Group.

We finance trips for participation in concerts and recitals and arrange team-building events for the singers and musicians.

Funds are raised through a host of social events such as coffee mornings, barbecues, concerts and carol singing. You can find out about our events at the church, from posters around the town and from the local press. We also depend heavily on membership subscriptions and donations.

If you would like to join us please contact the Parish Office or come along to one of our events.
