The Alpha Course

What exactly is Alpha?

Here at St James’ we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to ask the big questions of life.

What is my purpose? What happens when I die? Why is there suffering?

So, as we can no longer gather in person, we are taking our next Alpha Course online.

Alpha Online is an opportunity for anyone to ask those big questions and to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening, manner from the comfort of your own home.

The course consists of 8 thought provoking weekly sessions beginning on Wednesday,  30th September, 7.30pm to 8.45pm. Each session includes a short film followed by a time of discussion where you can share what you think with a small group of people.  Alpha is low key, friendly and fun, and supported by all the main Christian denominations.

Why attend an Alpha Course?

Guests come on the Alpha course for many different reasons; some want to investigate whether God exists and some have questions they’d like to discuss. Many guests have never been to church and others may have attended church but feel they have never had a personal understanding of the Christian faith.
