Children & Youth

Children and young people are at the heart of St James’ Church family.

At the core of all that we do is a desire to help each other to follow Jesus, grow more like him, and have fun!

All are most welcome to join these groups.

Regular activities

Wednesday Toddlers

Children's Sunday Club during Parish Communion 9.30am

At Sunday Club children leave church during the first hymn to make their way to the Church Centre where they engage in their own fun learning.

The children come back into church for communion.

Wetherby Church Choir
gives children a place where they can learn to sing, and under excellent coaching, gain impressive musical ability.
During the 9.30 Parish Communion the children of the choir receive their own learning in the Crypt.

Children's Activities during Worship @ 11.00
The children leave church during the first hymn to make their way to the Church Centre or in fine weather the outdoors where they take part in imaginative activities.  For younger children the back of church is used for children's learning/play during the service and they are free to flow between the back of church and their parents during the service.

Once a month The Bacon Butty Club kicks  its frying pan into action to feed the secondary school young people.

Family Service
The second Sunday of each month is an opportunity for children and young people to be fully involved in all aspects of the service. It is a service with something for everyone.
The children love it, and the adults have fun too.
