Suggestions for Prayer
Let us pray for all those children living in conflict zones around the world, that they might be protected from anxiety and stress.  Pray that they will be able to grow to their full potential and make best use of their skills and abilities.
People in the Kings Meadow area of Wetherby:  Kings Meadow Drive, Kings Meadow View, Kings Meadow Close, Kings Meadow Mews, Kings Meadow Grove.
This week the churches in Wetherby pray for:  God’s blessing upon the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity Service on 30 January at the Methodist Church at 7.30 pm.

Food Bank – A very big thank you to everyone who has kindly donated food in 2019. It has been very much appreciated. The amount of supplies that came in over Christmas was amazing. However, many of you might have thought it had not been collected and you would be quite right in thinking that, unfortunately many of the ‘Food Bank’ volunteers were ill. Hopefully the 2020 distribution will begin in earnest. Please do continue to donate, as supplies in Wetherby are still required. With many thanks and best wishes to everyone for a happy, healthy and peaceful 2020. Margaret Williams tel 918548

Help Required! Our 11am Squad is a little short of helpers on a Sunday morning and we have a growing number of children in the group, which is fantastic. If you would like to volunteer to help out regularly or occasionally, please speak to Sarah 07500 262306 or email sarahsharp.stjames@gmail.com. Thank you. Sarah

Your Marriage Matters to us! Does it matter to you? If you have been married for a while, maybe you have got a bit stuck in a rut and the excitement of the early years has vanished. It does not have to be like that, we could help you put the sparkle back into your marriage and re-kindle the flame of love that once burnt so bright. All it takes is commitment from you both to your marriage and willingness to work at it. We are running weekly sessions to help you make your marriage special again. You vowed to love and to cherish, let us share with you the tools to do that. If you would like to join us in St James’ Church Centre for four sessions from Thursday 30 January to Thursday 20 February at 7.30pm, then please contact us to book your place. Janet and Peter Cox tel 01937 584453 email peter_janet_cox@hotmail.com.

Refreshments 2019 – A big thank you to everyone who gave donations for refreshments during 2019. After expenses a total of £982.30 was raised. This will be used to purchase items used during services, including Communion wine and wafers, candles, etc. Thanks also to the volunteers who prepare and serve the refreshments each week. New helpers are always welcome, just speak to me for inclusion on the rota. Many thanks. Sheila Guest

The flowers in the porch this week are in loving memory of Eddie Salt, Margaret’s husband. Shirley Fawcett

Hosts/Leaders for 2020 Lent Home Groups
We are currently starting to plan the Lent Home Groups for 2020 and we are now looking for people who would be willing to host, lead or host and lead a group in 2020. If you are able to help, either by hosting or leading a group, then please speak to either Marilyn Smith or David Bewell or add your name to the list at the back of Church. Thank you. David Bewell.
